Join Us for Give Local 2026!
Everyone needs a place to play. The spaces where we feel safe and secure enough to be a little silly are also the places where we can take risks, try new things, and learn!
For some families, though, finding a safe place for play can be a challenge. Whether it’s limited space, living on a busy road, or even dangers in the home, making room for the kind of active, creative play that young minds need to grow and thrive isn’t always easy.
KidsPlay’s Community Fund access programs ensure that KidsPlay can be that safe, welcoming place for all families in our community to play. By letting families pay what they can afford, these free and reduced-price programs ensure that local families can imagine, create, and explore together here, whatever challenges they face at home.
The Community Fund includes…
- Museums for All: $5 admission for SNAP or WIC eligible families and licensed foster families.
- Access Memberships: reduced-price six-month or twelve-month memberships for income-eligible families
- Community Membership: fully subsidized six-month memberships to families referred by social service partners
- Blue Star Museums: free admission for active-duty military families.
These programs ensure that all children, regardless of their circumstances, have access to the essential developmental experiences that KidsPlay offers.
If you would also like to help families find a place to play at KidsPlay, please make a gift to KidsPlay’s Give Local campaign on April 21-22, 2026. During this 36-hour event, organized by the Connecticut Community Foundation, your support makes an even bigger impact by helping KidsPlay win additional funds through exciting challenges, matches, and more!
Thanks to a pool of matching funds provided by generous donors, the first $10,000 in donations to KidsPlay through Give Local 2026 will be matched dollar-for-dollar. That means that the impact of your gift during Give Local is DOUBLED!
You can also help us secure additional prize funds by timing your donation during specific campaign windows. These extra dollars will help us reach even more families.
- Give between 10 am and 7 pm on Tuesday, April 21 to help KidsPlay win Give Litchfield County!, a $1,000 prize for the Litchfield County organization with the most unique donors during that time frame.
- Give between 12 pm and 3 pm on Wednesday, April 22 to help us win Dollars for Litchfield County, a $1,000 prize for the Litchfield County organization that raises the most money in that time frame.
