Get Moving at KidsPlay: Exploring Our Physically Active Exhibits
At KidsPlay, we know that active play is essential for a child’s development, offering not only fun but also valuable opportunities to build intelligence, coordination, balance, and strength. That’s why we feature a range of physically engaging exhibits that get kids moving, laughing, and smiling! Whether they’re zipping around the Raceway or climbing across the Traverse Climbing Wall, these exhibits are all about active fun.
KidsPlay Raceway
Our seasonal exhibit KidsPlay Raceway invites little racers to hop on Plasma Cars and take on the track! These kid-propelled cars use whole-body movement, building gross motor skils and upper body strength, offering an exciting way to zoom around. As kids race, they improve coordination, balance, and problem-solving skills. Plus, the thrill of racing against friends or family is unbeatable!
Polar Pond Sock Skating
During the colder months, the Polar Pond transforms the museum into a winter wonderland—no ice required! Kids can slip into socks and glide across our simulated “ice” rink, experiencing the joy of skating without the chills. The sock skating rink helps develop balance and coordination while encouraging children to engage in imaginative, seasonal play. Whether they’re practicing spins, just sliding around, or dancing with a stuffed polar bear, Polar Pond brings all the fun of winter indoors!
Traverse Climbing Wall
The Traverse Climbing Wall is a perfect way for kids to challenge themselves while building strength, confidence, and instruction following skills. Unlike traditional climbing walls, this one focuses on lateral movement, encouraging children to climb horizontally rather than vertically. This format keeps the fun low to the ground while still offering a great workout for both body and mind, as kids navigate different routes and improve their agility and problem-solving. It’s a perfect exhibit for little adventurers to test their limits in a safe and fun way.
These exhibits, along with others at KidsPlay, ensure that children are not only learning but also staying active and healthy. So, the next time you visit, make sure to bring your energy and enthusiasm—it’s time to move!
