What is the ACM Reciprocal Network?
If you’re a KidsPlay member with a full-year family or grandparent membership, you may have noticed a little “R” in a red circle on your card. Have you ever wondered why it’s there? It’s there because KidsPlay is a member of the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) Reciprocal Network!
KidsPlay membership is your ticket to a year full of fun, learning, and memorable experiences for the whole family – not just here in Torrington, CT, but across the country and beyond! As a member, you gain access to exclusive benefits through the Association of Children’s Museums (ACM) Reciprocal Network.
What is the ACM Reciprocal Network?
The ACM Reciprocal Network is a group of over 200 children’s museums across the U.S. and Canada that offer discounted admission to members of participating museums. With a KidsPlay membership, you’ll receive 50% off general admission for up to six (6) people at any of these museums. That means you can explore new exhibits, programs, and hands-on fun at museums far and wide, all at half the price! Just make sure to bring your membership card and call ahead to verify the museum’s participation.
Where can I use these benefits?
In Connecticut alone, there are five museums other than KidsPlay that are part of the ACM Reciprocal Network. They are:
- The Children’s Museum in West Hartford
- Lutz Children’s Museum in Manchester
- Niantic Children’s Museum in Niantic
- EverWonder Children’s Museum in Newtown
- Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norwalk
Be sure to use the ACM Find a Children’s Museum tool to discover more Reciprocal Network members!
How to Make the Most of Your Membership
When visiting a participating ACM Reciprocal Network museum, remember to bring your valid KidsPlay membership card with the ACM Reciprocal Network logo, and be prepared to show a photo ID. The discount applies to general admission for up to six people, with the membership cardholder included in that count.
