Give Local 2025: KidsPlay’s Community Fund!
Give Local is almost here! This 36-hour online campaign unites donors, businesses, and local charities to provide much-needed support for our community. KidsPlay’s campaign will support our Community Fund Access Programs.
These programs break down barriers for families facing financial constraints or other challenging circumstances, helping them to visit the Museum regularly and build lifelong museum habits.
- Museums for All: This nationally-acclaimed federal program lets families with a current Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) EBT card to visit KidsPlay for $5 per person. KidsPlay extends eligibility for this special rate to Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) recipients and licensed Foster Families.
- Community Membership: KidsPlay originally launched this program in 2014 as the Angel Membership Program. Families referred by social service agencies are granted fully subsidized six-month memberships. Families are referred for the Community Membership program due to circumstances including but not limited to economic insecurity, language barriers, or insufficient education in the household.
- Access Membership: Using the Museums for All model, Access Memberships allow eligible families to qualify for six or twelve months of reduced-price membership at KidsPlay.
- Blue Star Museums: From Armed Forces Day until Labor Day, families of people currently serving in the U.S. Military receive free admission to KidsPlay.
- Agency and Provider Partnerships: This program offers admission vouchers to partnering social service agencies and health care providers that work with children experiencing the traumatic effects of homelessness, food insecurity, or domestic violence. These partners have identified KidsPlay as a safe space for their client families to share positive experiences and build resiliency during traumatic and unstable periods.
KidsPlay’s access programs provide free and reduced-price admissions and memberships for the families that need them, using the power of play to spark shared curiosity, imagination, and fun that eases stress and strengthens family bonds. Join us for Give Local on April 29-30 to help make these programs possible. Thank you!
