Some things in life are just better together. Peanut butter and jelly or nuts and bolts are the first things that come to mind. Of course, "kids" and "play" go together, and it is in our name!
Over the past sixteen months, we have welcomed back nearly 25,000 visitors. That is a lot of “kids” and “play” with quite a bit of informal learning and smiling eyes! For many children, a trip to “play” provided a sense of normalcy and an opportunity to see and interact with other children.
Thanks to charitable gifts from many friends, businesses, and foundations, KidsPlay continues to adapt operations to support public health and fulfill our mission.
What goes together with KidsPlay? You! As we prepare for the next stage of the Pandemic, our core work of providing a safe and engaging child-centered space will be even more necessary.
KidsPlay is asking for your support today as we look ahead to 2022, filled with new projects, exhibits, and a bit of uncertainty.
We are cautiously optimistic about a future that includes more opportunities to bring "kids" together to "play." These shared experiences prepare collaborative, adaptable, lifelong learners and build a sense of community.
Please consider including KidsPlay in your end-of-year giving.
With sincere gratitude,
On behalf of the KidsPlay Staff and the Board of Directors: Kenneth Merz*, Valerie Vitalo, Brian McCormick*, Holly Hunt, Marc Borghesi, Stuart Grodin*, Mary Guilfoile, Cheryl Kloczko, John Martin*, Carmen Neale, Brad Oneglia, Carol Quartiero, JoAnn Ryan*, & Cathleen Schmitz* *Founding Members
P.S. Did you know that everyone who donates to the work of charitable nonprofits in 2021 to help make a difference in their communities may qualify for special tax deductions? For example, one special tax provision for taxpayers who take the standard deduction permits individual tax filers to claim a deduction of up to $300, and married individuals filing joint returns can claim a deduction of up to $600 for cash contributions. This incentive is unique to this year and expires on December 31, 2021. Please consult your tax advisor and use this opportunity to support the work and missions of the charitable organizations in our community.
