Meet our Staff - Deb Kellogg

Youth Engagement and Volunteer Specialist

Deb has been with KidsPlay since 2017, initially starting out as a volunteer to now having many jobs at the Museum! Deb is a huge asset to our team as she is both a natural adventurer and teacher at heart. She spent many years playing and coaching sports while also working as a Vet Tech and Surgical Nurse! We decided to ask Deb a few questions to help you get to know her better.

What is your favorite exhibit?

I love the Maker Space but I have to say the Ball & Ramp Wall! It is so amazing to watch the KidsPlay families enjoy the exhibit at any age, with a group participating together or someone figuring out their own design to make the balls travel along a path. It is exciting, creative, challenging and offers so many problem-solving opportunities!

Why do you love KidsPlay?

KidsPlay means everything to me. It has helped me begin to live my life again in the best way. I loved playing soccer - because we were a team. Here at KidsPlay we are a team! That is SO important!

I get so excited to hear children laugh with joy as they are playing. It's fun to see families interact with different exhibits. The Museum has a special magic where everyone can play and imagine! I love my KidsPlay family!

What do you do for your own purposeful play?

Well, my family is very important to me. Any chance I get to spend time with them is a blessing. I'm passionate about soccer, I used to play - coach - and now watch.... unless there is a pick-up game with my grandkids. I'm an avid hiker and reader. I also love to travel, kayak, and paddleboard!

Don't forget to say "Hi!" to Deb on your next visit!
