February @ KidsPlay!

February @ KidsPlay!

The human body is amazing! Think about the things you can see with your eyes, the sounds you can hear with your ears, the flavors you can taste with your tongue, the scents you can smell with your nose, and the things you can feel with your fingers. Your body lets you fall asleep at night and wakes you up in the morning. It turns the food you eat into energy for you to walk, run, and jump. What else can your amazing body do?

Join us this month at KidsPlay as we focus on the wonderful workings of the human body. We have lots to explore and create together!

Special Programs and Events

It's Smart to Visit the Dentist!

Thursday - February 6, 10:30 am

Let’s welcome Brooker Memorial for a program about getting comfortable at the dentist! Kids will tour the dental exhibit and see a hygienist wearing a mask and gloves up close. The dental hygienist will also provide free screenings, so children have a chance to sit in the chair and experience a dental mirror in their mouth. Parents will also be provided with a list of kind dental words and some titles of children’s books they can use at home to prepare children for a dental visit.

Pre-registration is suggested*.

Susan B. Anthony Project Puppet Show
Thursday - February 13, 10:30 am

Susan B. Anthony Project presents the Safe Touch Puppet Show. Annie, their puppet friend, will take the KidsPlay stage to teach us all about safe and unsafe touches. There will be specific vocabulary and a specialized approach to show kids how to make healthy choices and have healthy bodies. Participating children and adults will also be provided with take-home materials.

Pre-registration is suggested*.
