September @ KidsPlay!

September @ KidsPlay!

Furry Friends!

Did you know that scientists estimate that there are over 7 million species of animals in the world? And even that number is open for discussion, since it is a difficult task to actually count and categorize all the different kinds of animals we share the earth with.

As we start our theme of Curious Creatures this month at KidsPlay, take some time to visit How Many Animals Are There in the World? at Wonderopolis to get your childrens’ brains buzzing about the sheer number and variety of animal species on Earth (and working some real-life math skills into their day). Then come in for a visit to explore the world of animals during our programs all month long.

P.S. I’ve heard that Action Wildlife in Goshen, CT, has two new baby zebras in their petting zoo. This would be a great time to visit, as they have generously agreed to donate their admissions on September 14th (rain date - September 15th) to benefit KidsPlay. You can enjoy a fun day learning about their unique collection of animals from around the world while helping KidsPlay at the same time! Tickets can be purchased in person, at the museum, or online.
