Look What's Hatching!

Something special is hatching at KidsPlay! This months theme of “Look What’s Hatching” allows children and families to discover the surprise and thrill of new things, whether it’s a new life or a new idea.

Our “Spring Break: Unplugged” offers an exciting challenge to look up from our screens and hatch our own ideas. What happens when we unplug? We have an opportunity to use our imaginations, try new things, take risks, and develop a sense of achievement. We’ll discover that there are lots of new and interesting stories, vocabulary, experiments, and creations to enjoy.

Whether it’s new life or new ideas, there will be lots of fun and interesting things hatching at KidsPlay this month!

It is a beautifully illustrated and cleverly formatted tale with a surprise ending that's bound to ruffle some feathers! It is also a great way to start our April learning adventure “Look What’s Hatching!”.

Emily Gravett, is known for her “endearing, beautifully drawn characters” and for the way, her writing “tickles the funny bone,” and touches the heart. Born in Brighton England, Emily left school at the age of 16 to travel Great Britain for the next 8 years. She spent eight years living in a big green bus with her partner and their daughter exploring all life had to offer. By 1997 she settled in Wales and realized she wanted more for herself as far as a professional career. While enrolled in art school, she won the Macmillan Prize for Illustration bringing her talent into the limelight ultimately bringing her a book deal. She is an awarding winning author that is playful, intelligent, and funny! Each of her books are unique and different from the last. Some of her works include Wolves, Orange Pear Apple Bear, Little Mouse’s Big Book of Fears, Monkey and Me, Spells, and many more!
