Author Study: Walter Wick
"As my projects came to life, so did my imagination." - Walter Wick.
Walter Wick is most famous for his "I Spy" books. A classic in everyones childhood. Wick uses his artistic eye to create elaborate photographs. He taught himself to draw at a young age. He was so interested in making 2D shapes "pop" and "come to life" that 3D art became his passion.
"To others I must have appeared completely lost in my thoughts. I didn't always complete my projects, nor were they always successful. But I was learning how the world works. I learned how to solve problems, overcome disappointment, and think creatively on my own."
He has more than 35 million books in print. This month we will explore the depths of his works, learn how to solve problems, overcome disappointment, and think creatively... just like Walter Wick did!

Children may bring in their own displays, projects, inventions, hobbies and put them on display. If your child is interested or has any questions please fill out the attached application and email it to email@example.com or bring in person to the museum.
Good Tastes with Brooker Memorial
- Preparing children for life-long success
Thursday, July 27
2 pm - 2:45 pm
Let’s welcome Brooker Memorial for a program about our sense of taste! We will “sample” different tastes and try to identify our four areas of taste – salty, sweet, sour and bitter. Which ones are pleasing? How do different tastes make us feel? We will learn a variety of animal facts, specifically about their tongues and tasting. For example, did you know that butterflies have taste sensors on their feet?
