Metamorphosis means changes! Life is a constant cycle of changes. In May we will investigate and explore all the different types and phases of metamorphosis. How have we changed? How does our world change? How do we adapt to the ever changing world? Seeing the world through the eyes of a child, the weeks of May are filled with discovery and a child's sense of curiosity. Author Study: Sandra Boynton
She is best known for her children’s books Philadelphia Chickens, Moo Baa La La La, and Barnyard Dance, but Boynton's talent dosen't stop there. Boynton is also a songwriter and composed several albums to accompany her books. She has illustrated over four thousand greeting cards, designed plush toys, and even calendars! Sandra Boynton truly does it all! This month join us as we explore her work.
Story Walk: The Barnyard Dance

Calling all Explorers! This club is designed specifically for youth ages 5-7. Children will explore the different project areas that 4-H has to offer from animals to crafts, gardening and more! This program will be held on the second Wednesday of every month, in the program room of the museum.

There is no charge for the 4-H program. If children would like to play before the meeting, admission can be paid at the front desk.
Touch a Truck
Saturday, May 12

KidsPlay Children's Museum is the beneficiary of O&G Industries Annual Touch a Truck. The suggested donation of $2 per person will benefit a new construction exhibit at the Museum.
O&G's Annual Touch a Truck event is held each May to cap off National Construction Safety Week. This year Touch a Truck will take place on Saturday, May 12 from 10 am to 1 pm at the O&G Maintenance Facility located at 900 South Main Street in Torrington, CT.
This is an event for the entire family! Kids can touch and climb on the vehicles that are on display. The event features over 25 pieces of equipment from O&G including a dozen pieces of equipment from O&G's guests and local first responders. Activities for children include sand art, face painting, and more. Food Truck vendors will be onsite. They include Frankie's World Famous Hot Dogs, Kona-Ice and Bella Sera.
Parking is available at O&G’s Bogue Road Facility (255 Lower Bogue Rd, Harwinton, CT), across the street from Iffland Lumber in O&G’s staging lot or the commuter lot located next to Ron's Automotive (22 Thomaston Rd, Litchfield, CT). Shuttle buses are available to take guests from the parking lot to the event.
