Discovering the wonders of our world, each child needs time to play, to explore and to share with actions and words. Sharing the wonders of our wonder-full world with children is a gift of wisdom for them and for us. Seeing the world through the eyes of a child, the weeks of January and winter are filled with discovery and a child's sense of wonder. Come and enjoy together!

Author Study: Shel Silverstein
A poet and musician famously known for his books, The Giving Tree and Where the Sidewalk Ends, Shel Silverstein writes books that have fun and simple illustrations, humor, and take-away life lessons. The Giving Tree has been translated into more than 30 languages and is continually named to lists of the best children’s books of all time! Join us this month as we explore some of his work.

Join us to welcome the Susan B. Anthony project and their puppet friend Annie to KidsPlay! Annie will be taking the KidsPlay stage to teach us all about safe and unsafe touches. At the end of this fun interactive show children will be able to identify safe adults to talk to and how to handle their emotions. Participating children will also get a take-home coloring book!

That’s right! It’s that time of year again, KidsPlay Family Fun Fair is back and better than ever ready for the 4th year of fun!
Stage Performances :
A high-energy, hands-on, and NUTTY game show where “contestants” are selected from the audience to answer questions and then compete in a fun,non-athletic physical challenge. Challenges are entertaining, engaging and age appropriate.
And more….Face painting, caricatures, balloon twisting, Shriner Clowns, free eye screens, Child ID Kits, medical and dental information, camp and childcare information, art, animal, & nature organizations and community & education organizations.
Family Ticket: $20 – includes admission for a family of up to 6
Member Family Ticket: $15 – includes admission for a family up to 6
Each additional person is $3 at event door. Children under 1 are free.
Tickets are available at KidsPlay, online, or at the door on the day of the event.

Eating Smart•Being Active®
Wednesdays, 4 pm - 6 pm
KidsPlay is partnering with University of Saint Joseph and the CT Department of Public Health for this special eight week program. The goal of this program is to educate families on how to live a healthier lifestyle. Each week will highlight a different topic with fun activities, tools, and lessons to correlate! **Preregistration required**
