Family Friday - Earth and Space Explorers

March 22, 2019 | 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

We are so excited for this month’s Family Friday: Earth & Space Explorers on March 22 that we want to give you plenty of time to plan ahead. KidsPlay will be open from 10 am to 8 pm with themed activities from 5 pm to 8 pm. The event is part of a nationwide celebration designed to engage children in the awe-inspiring fields of Earth and space science.

The event will use Explore Science: Earth & Space toolkits, developed and distributed nationwide by the National Informal STEM Education Network (NISE Net). While some of the activities are geared for ages 5+, all ages are welcome to explore the museum during family night.

Our Maker Space Specialist, Lois Logan, is looking forward to exploring the kits with our visitors. “The NISE kits include a variety of activities that encourage learning and playful experimentation about Space and Earth. We’ll be playing with stomp rockets, playing hide and seek with the moon, and using an infrared thermometer to measure heat levels emanating from different surfaces – I can’t wait to share all the activities with our visitors!”

Shoot for the stars! Explore our world and beyond at KidsPlay!
