Spring Break - Work Together Wednesday

April 18, 2018 | 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Work Together Wednesday is part of our week-long celebration of “The Week of The Young Child.”

Work together, build together, learn together. “Alone I am a force, but together we’re unstoppable!” When children build together for example, they explore math and science concepts and develop their social and early literacy skills. Through the day we will try all different types of building and team work challenges.

Highlights :

Join us for some special team work activities – Camp MOE reunion and community mentors, The Torrington Railroad Club.

10:00 – 10:30 : Let’s read “3 Billy Goats Gruff” can we act it out together?

10:30 – 11:30 – STEM: Team bridge building. Make a bridge with blocks. Should we give up if it falls down?

11:30 – Kids On Stage: 3 Little Pigs

1:00 – 3:00 – Pop up Craft: “These Hands” by Margaret H. Mason read aloud. Followed by finger-painting together. What can you build with your hands? Can you add to the KidsPlay handprint rainbow mural?

All day – Maker Space Challenge : I’ve been working together on the railroad: build a train car, then decorate the box, put it on the tabletop train track.
