Susan B. Anthony Project Puppet Show
February 20, 2018 | 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Staff from the Susan B. Anthony Project and their puppet friend, Annie, will be taking the KidsPlay stage to teach us all about safe and unsafe touches. At the end of this fun interactive show, children will be able to identify safe adults to talk to and ways to handle their emotions. Participating children will also get a take home coloring book.
From the Susan B. Anthony Project:
“Every eight minutes a child is sexually abused, with the majority of perpetrators being someone the victim knows. Prevention is where the conversation starts! We look forward to opening discussion about ways to keep children safe from sexual abuse with our
puppet friend Annie!
During this dialogue, children will be able to identify safe and unsafe touches, the “uh-oh feeling”, and safe adults to talk to. At the end of the show, children receive a coloring book that reinforces our conversation of safe touches, safe adults, and saying “no” to a bad touch. Information will also be made available for adults on warning signs, conversation starters, and handling disclosures.”
Please preregister in person at the museum, by phone, or by email.
Staff from the Susan B. Anthony Project will be available
10 am for questions and with material. Puppet show starts 10:30 AM. All are welcome.
