Winter Break - World Celebrations

December 26, 2017 | 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Tuesday, December 26 through Sunday, December 31

Tuesday – Celebrating with gifts

Giving is sharing a bit of ourselves with others to let them know we care. Learn how people celebrate giving with stories about gifts. Use your creativity to make a unique gift to bring home!

Wednesday – Celebrating with light

Many traditions use light in their celebrations and light helps to brighten the shortest days of the year. We will experiment with the concepts of light and shadow. Through STEM exploration with shadows in a special new exhibit and analyzing color with our Light Lab, we will investigate the fundamental elements of light.

Thursday – Celebrating with food

Food is an integral part of celebrations around the world. Food is important as we travel the world through stories about rice, corn, bread, and beans. Have a favorite family recipe? Bring the recipe to share! Let’s create a KidsPlay Cookbook!

Friday – Celebrating with games

Fun is universal! We will be exploring games used for celebrations around the world. Make a game to take home.

Saturday – Celebrating with music

Let our ears be our guide as we travel around the globe! Make your own instrument, then hop on stage, grab the microphone, and show us how it sounds.

Sunday – Count Down to Noon!

Our annual Countdown to Noon Balloon Drop has become one of KidsPlay’s favorite events of the year! Join us for activities, crafts, and noise makers for your kids to welcome in 2018, without the late night. Balloons Drop at noon!
